post 368 ~ which monitor?

post 368 ~ which monitor?… since the mortgage pay-off also overpaid my DELL account by $300, i now have some money to get a DELL product… i’m leaning towards one of the following monitors… but which?
note that either one will be the secondary monitor (extended desktop) to my primary DELL 15-inch laptop (1280 x 800)… all other features are pretty much identical… i’m leaning towards the WIDE version, but in terms of desktop space, i’d be losing about 2 inches height, most noticeably in full 1280 x 1024 wallpapers… so while DVD, AVI, and other movies would look great, i’d lose work area for apps like photoshop or ms word… any recommendations? |

i have a widescreen monitor and i barely notice the negatives you mentioned. in fact, i feel like i have more space when working in photoshop/websites. scrolling up and down is typical, but side-side is annoying. but then again, i don’t change my wallpaper too often when i find one i really like and it’s well made.

thanx, looks like yet another notch for WIDE ;)… currently, while my laptop graphics card can handle a secondary monitor, it’s max is only 1280… but i’ll probably upgrade eventually to a laptop that can handle the 1680…
p.s. you’re talking about your apple monitor at work, right? 23-inch?… haha, if i remember, you had a “totoro” wallpaper on it ;)))… in that case, was the wallpaper already huge (1600+) or did you stretch it?

I think that the first one sounds better since you already have a computer!!! Ans still it’s pretty big!!!! But you know me and I’m a loser when it comes to knowing about computers so…lol

nah, you’re not a loser, and i KNOW you, hehe ;)… well, they’re both about the same 20-inches, only the height-width dimensions are different: WIDE vs. STANDARD… but WIDE does seem “kewler”, eh? :)
p.s. seems like we’ve BOTH been lucky recently! ;)))

I might not be lucky by being chose by Passion Spice after all…
I was NOT choosen…the photogrpaher just decided to propose me to the client. And I didn’t get feedback so..I guess it’s a NO.
Summum is also NO a sure thing. Its a test and NOTHING more.
