Blog 057 ~ Frames Per Second!
April 28th, 2007Well, here are the new DK frames! Following up on Blogs 055, 053, and 050, I got the call Friday afternoon and after work, I picked up my Donna Karan clears and Ray-Ban sunglasses. However, after driving home with the RB and wearing both frames that night and the following morning, I still had a few issues. For example, the RB sunglasses felt a little too big and didn’t fit my face as well as the DK frames. Luckily, it’s still well within my 30-day try-out window. So I went back to Lenscrafters about noon or so, to give them my new instructions as follows…
(1) For the sunglasses, replace the RB frame with the identical DK frame (frame looks and feels better), and (2) For the clear lenses, replace the high-index Superview material with the not-so-high-index Featherwates (the identical material as the sun lenses; since sun lenses don’t come in Superview). By doing this, I keep the best frame for all lighting conditions, and keep the same material for all lenses. And consequently, less dizziness and headaches switching from frame to frame. So in the meantime, I’ll wear what I have, and wait till next week… In any case, I love the DK frames!

LOL, thanx! Actually, I wanted to move away from the round or wire frames for a while now (same old frames for 10+ years!). The characters on the new Battlestar Galactica was another influence. And Vanessa agreed with a rectangular-framed look. So why not?
