Hey, nice job on the set. I have the Asuka goth-lolita statue and I need the Rei to go with her. I’ve found plenty of sites that have it listed, but I can’t tell if its pre-painted and assembled or not!! Please help! I’d like to know where you purchased yours. Also, if you don’t mind, what’s the difference between Resin and PVC?
Thanks a bunch!

Hey thanx! The Mai-Hime set was pretty fun. In fact, my next photoshoot is exactly the Asuka and Rei Gothloli shoot, maybe this weekend!. As for Rei, here’s an old post I wrote: http://www.xjaymanx.com/toybox/2006/12/26/blog-020-going-all-the-rei/
This Rei comes in BOTH pre-painted and unassembled (I got the pre-painted assembled). And so far, only resin is available for this design. The difference with PVC is that resin is a little harder, heavier, and distorts less over time and under heat. Consequently, it’s more expensive ($100+) and unfortunately, it’s also more brittle than PVC, so when my Rei arrived, I had to superglue both her index fingers back on, lol. Hopefully it won’t show in the photoshoot. Eventually, a PVC version may come out, but who knows?
I bought her at HOBBY SEARCH ( http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/ )… Hope this helps!
