THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES
* 5 *
"Penelope?" you call out in the darkness. Time is lost to you, but it feels as if it has been ages since your terrible nightmare. "Penelope, where are you?"
You start to notice shapes around you, and soon you hear steps from far away coming closer, sounding metallic and echoing. You lurch up in bed, throwing the thick but holely blanket off of you. You realize you are on a bunk. Of course, still in my cell. Still imprisoned, but where are the bars? Why does the room feel so differently from before?
Soon the steps come to your door (door?) and the door opens. You remember your dream and the door there, and you smile knowing that maybe it was also a nightmare that your darling Penelope died. The door opens and the light is flicked on, and you are blinded by it.
"B. Lyle, are you awake?" Still, you see the figure of your love in the threshold.
"Penelope! Oh God, I thought you were - I had the strangest most horrific nightmare and-"
"B. Lyle, I am sorry about all of this."
"Wait, you don't sound like Penelope. Where is she!"
You jump out of your bunk and rush towards the sound as if you knew this room like the back of your hand. You grab at the figure in front of you and shake it.
"I don't know. It's me, B. Lyle. It's Sky."
"What? What is going on?"
"Shh, it's OK now. I saved you."
"Saved me from what?"
"From your prison!"
"Oh, of course. We're on the lam, then." But, the sudden exertion knocks you out again.
