THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES

* 4 *

    You fall into the thick red and open your eyes. "What! Where am I?" You follow an ancient impulse to try to rise up. Why is not important or even considered as you work directly from your lizard-brain. You feel something taut, something slick, something plastic like. You shove both your hands through it as if it were ice upon a lake. You finally feel it break around you and you raise up out of the goo, resting on your knees as best you can. You notice that you are having trouble breathing, and reach up to your mouth.

    Good God!! There is something in your mouth, crawling down your throat even! In your panic you think it is another tentacle from Mother Doubt, and you waste no time yanking it out as fast as you can. But, you feel so weak. Still, you pull it out with strength not of muscle but of mind. As soon as it is out, your breath catches on something. You have to puke, and although your eyes are blurry, you still see that is similar to the red goo you are bathing in.

    Now you realize that their are more tentacles embedded in you, all over you! They are on your arms, your legs, your back, a plate covering your genitals, and, oh Lord no!! "They got into my brain too!"

    As soon as you say that, an alarm goes off around you, and you cover your ears to the cacophony. Just as you do, the tentacles are yanked off of you. You are yanked back in a strange agony as the tentacle attached to the back of your skull pulls you back then stops. You are reminded of the second Hellraiser movie, where that evil doctor is moved around by that spike that has pierced his brain.

    But, now you hear a strange high-pitched whining behind your skull and a small bit of air, and then you feel as if the tentacles have finally let you go. You fall forward, exhausted. But before you have time to rest and consider the situation, you hear a muffled mechanical noise behind you. Now all the red goop is being pulled away from you, and soon you are being pulled down with it. "So, this is what being flushed must feel like."

    But, this is to be your last thought for a while because you knock your head on something.
