As Hitch scurries about her, Cyberreyn waits anxiously in her chair. Questions form in her mind like foam in the ocean's tide.
"Hitch, I met Nos in the Construct, but I am not sure what we are doing."
"It's new to us as well, but a lot of things have worked so far."
"OK. Go on."
"What we have to do is, uh, we need at least two people to hook up to a special Construct."
"Yeah?"
"It is a construct that is this ship at the time of the Construct's creation running in a then modified real-time."
"Let me get this straight -- we are doing some kind of feedback loop? Like in 'Speed'?"
"Yeah, kind of. It will be like facing one mirror in font of another, then looking at all the reflections reflecting each other. Except we will tweak it the way we need to."
"So, it will be real and unreal at the same time. Won't that be ... weird?"
"Only Sky and I have tested it so far, and Sky threw up."
"Oh great, and what am I supposed to do with THAT golden image?"
"Don't worry, I think you are too new to Constructs to be that affected by it."
"You're just trying to make me do a mind-over-matter thing to get through this, aren't you?"
"Exactly." "Hey Flick! Prepare the Construct for the Palindrome program."
"Oh God, I was hoping those sirens were just my tinnitus acting up again."
"Shut up fool and run the final diagnostic on the changes we made."
"I am doing it as we speak. Done. Looks OK to me."
"I'm sorry, what's a palindrome," asks Cy.
"It's a sentence, verse, phrase or word that reads the same forwards and backwards."
"Like?"
"Like 'A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!' or 'Bob'."
