THE NEWCOMER
Path A1 by Jay
[Path A1. Flicker loads up the construct.]
After plugging Cyberreyn into the system, Flicker hops back into his seat, presses a string of keys on his keyboard, and smiles at her.
"Here we go!" He presses the "Load" button.
Instantly, the blackness behind Cyberreyn's eyelids flashes into the calm summer day by the sea. Her battered old dentist-like chair has become a beach recliner, and turning behind her, she sees a simple-sloped beach house with its screen doors opened. She turns forward again, and through her sunglasses, she sees several sailboats in the distance spotting the wide ocean expanse. Several seagulls hover close by, hanging effortlessly against the flow of the wind.
But then she feels a little chilly, and looks down at herself. "Hey!"
Beside her shrimp primavera, the cellular phone rings to the tune of the "Superman" theme.
Cyberreyn picks up the phone.
"Hey, Flicker! What the hell?"
"Hahahaha, I thought a little skin might cheer you up! I mean, it's cheering ME up!"
She looks down again. She is definitely wearing a two-piece bikini!
Choose Path A1A to forget it and wear the bikini anyway.
Choose Path A1B to get a towel in the beach house.
