Abilities in the Matrix

Abilities in the Real World

Levels of Skill / Power

• There are 4 levels of skill/power: 1-4. The weakest level is 1, the strongest level is 4. Neo would be level 5 at most things in the Matrix, but 1-4 in the Real World.

• If your character is pod-born, you will have skills in all of the above. If free-born, you will not have skills in the Matrix.

• From the above 8 skills, you can take level 4 only in one skill, level 3 in two skills, level 2 in three skills, and level 1 in two skills.

• When a character uses one of his/her skills, the Games Master (GM) will measure it up against the enemy/situation skill level.

• Even if your martial arts is at the weakest level 1, you will still be stronger and faster than pluggies, because you know that the Matrix exists.

• If your character is newly unplugged, you will have it differently. You still have to get accustomed to the Matrix and the Real World. The GM will deal with them as the need arises.


HL CORPS RPG - Rules & Guidelines - Off-Play Rules

• Character bios should not be posted publicly on the threads, since not every character in the HL Corps knows the other characters' life stories.

• Character bios should be private-messaged (PM) to the GM. Include your physical and psychological characteristics, short history (e.g. why you were unplugged, why you joined the resistance, and other why's), and other information.

• You play a character in a fictional world. You can do, say, and feel whatever you want, or at least try to, but take into consideration that this world reacts to you. The GM will play that reactive world.

• Off-play information is off-play. You as players might know things that your character does not. But when you play the character, you will ignore that information and use only the information that you know in-play.

• Only the GM will play multiple and other characters, as to not complicate this complicated RPG any further.

• Any of the rules, decisions, and what not, that the GM gives, can be altered. We are doing this for fun! So if you have a problem or question, contact the GM.
