\nmarmalade dream<\/a><\/p>\n

and there! there she was
\ndown abbey’s winding road,
\na-hopping and a-skipping,
\na-lugging a hard-day’s load<\/p>\n

“you’re such a strange girl!”
\ni chuck-chuckled from my tree,
\nand hanging upside down,
\ni joked “help! i need somebody!”<\/p>\n

revolving on her toe
\nlike a rolling club-band’s drum,
\nshe waved with bandaged fingers
\nlike a lefty’s guitar strum<\/p>\n

“you know what you are?”
\nshe blinked her blackbird eyes,
\n“you’re a dork and a dweeb,”
\nand flashed her skirted thighs<\/p>\n

“thank you very much,
\nyou freaky pink-lipped reptile,”
\nand from my rocking perch,
\ni flung my rainbow smile<\/p>\n

in warhol’s fifteen minutes,
\nshe joined my little tree house,
\nand tickled my lonely heart
\nlike a cat with yesterday’s mouse<\/p>\n

“what do you want to be?”
\ni asked of lucy’s future,
\nshe sighed to the nowhere sky,
\n“a famous paperback writer!”<\/p>\n

as summer’s sunset dove
\nlike an orange submarine
\nshe left me with a kiss goodbye
