\nthe cobble-stoned boulevard
\nin a copper-shaded fantasy<\/p>\n

she strolled beside him
\nher slender hand in his grasp
\nher chestnut gaze shimmering
\nbeneath her black pin-striped hat<\/p>\n

as they glided past my bench
\nhumming in their happiness
\none of her eyes winked at me
\nand i recognized the friendly tune<\/p>\n

\nwhen the rain starts to pour”

\nlike i’ve been there before”<\/p>\n

as they faded into the distance
