Office-chained client-work for IBM continues to be grueling. I continue to endure burn-out mode while my blood-shot eyes (including my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xjaymanx.com\/toyboxx\/2008\/07\/31\/blog-145-vegas-in-july\/#comment-653\">supernatural left eye<\/a>, lol) approach boil-out mode. Yet despite it all, I manage to limp along with anime and web design as my crutches, lol. So, in no particular order, a few highlights over the last couple weeks&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slapped together a last-minute website for <a target=\"new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.catiavitoria.com\/\">Catia Vitoria &#8211; Muay Thai Fighter<\/a> in a few eye-burning nights.\n<li>Received an out-of-the-void email thanking me for keeping my <a target=\"new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructfic.com\">ConstructFic<\/a> Matrix-fanfic website alive for all these years, lol.\n<li>Replaced the near-dead battery in my 6-month-owned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xjaymanx.com\/toyboxx\/2008\/08\/03\/blog-146-human-pets-masters\/\">Jemma Chernaya<\/a>. Time flies! Uh, I mean, time drives!\n<li>Triggered by <a target=\"new\" href=\"http:\/\/angryloli.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/keitai-e.html\">this post<\/a> to reminisce about my geeky high-school Sci-Fi &#038; Fantasy Club and its &#8220;Futures&#8221; magazine. Back then, I was geeky enough to be Vice-President, haha.\n<li>Faced some minor drama <a target=\"new\" href=\"http:\/\/puppy52.com\/2008\/09\/fall-2008-tumblring.html\">fighting over a fallen puppy<\/a>.\n<li>Began sketching a new 3rd *Mirai* fanart. Hopefully I&#8217;ll finish it before 2009?\n<li>Received my combined shipment of 3 suddenly acquired figures (SAFs): Figma Fate-Stay Saber [#84], Figma Code-Geass Lelouch [#83], and Little-Busters Yuiko [#82].\n<li>Also received notification that my new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xjaymanx.com\/toyboxx\/2007\/07\/25\/blog-099-weapons-in-the-wind\/\">Edelweiss Fumie<\/a> figure (pre-ordered 13 months ago) should be shipping any day now [#85].\n<li>Yeah, I know I stopped ordering in June at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xjaymanx.com\/toyboxx\/anime\/anime-figure-list\/\">87 figures<\/a>, but they still come in months later. Plus in August, I just had to order my first-4 Figmas to see what the play-acting and stop-motion fuss was all about. Okay, maybe I&#8217;ll stop at 91 figures. Just like 400+ CDs in college, 200+ DVDs during marriage, and 90+ figures as a bachelor again, maybe I&#8217;ll find something new to collect~~ like MONEY this time, lol.\n<li>Continued my current anime-watching list: &#8220;Bleach &#8211; S1&#8221;, &#8220;Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad&#8221;, &#8220;Code Geass &#8211; R2&#8221;, &#8220;Vampire Knight &#8211; S1&#8221;, &#8220;Kiddy Grade&#8221; (3rd-4th time but 1st time with Japanese audio, English subs).\n<li>Finished 26th-29th anime title of the year: [#29] 3-ep 2004 anime OVA &#8220;Phantom &#8211; The Animation&#8221; (wow, obscure title but unexpectedly breath-taking, 4 of 5 stars), [#28] 27-ep &#8220;Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann&#8221; (double-wow, heart-pumping yet heart-breaking final-7 episodes, finally worthy of 5 of 5 stars!), [#27] 47-ep &#8220;NANA&#8221; (wow, still a sweeping and soaring, bittersweet and melancholic rock-and-roll masterpiece, 5 of 5 stars!), [#26] 2007 anime film &#8220;Appleseed &#8211; Ex Machina&#8221; (not bad, slick and slammin&#8217; 4 of 5 stars).\n<li>Also finished the 26-ep &#8220;Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex&#8221; (3rd-4th time but 1st time with Japanese audio, English subs).\n<li>Also watched &#8220;Harry Potter III &#8211; Azkaban&#8221;, 2007 high-school comedy &#8220;Superbad&#8221;, and &#8220;Katt Williams &#8211; The Pimp Chronicles&#8221;.\n<li>Even continued to read &#8220;Catcher in the Rye&#8221;, lol. Yup, actual reading! Never read the 1951 classic in high school, but ever since watching &#8220;Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex&#8221; again, and since <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xjaymanx.com\/toyboxx\/2008\/08\/31\/blog-157-my-anime-roommate\/\">my roommate<\/a> had a copy of it, I thought &#8220;Why not?&#8221; Currently about 40% of the way through. >_<\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Suddenly Acquired Figma Saber | Click to enlarge Yeah, another grinding week in the real world.
