Centaur

  • ALL YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT CENTAUR BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK

    • 1) Red pill or blue pill? Red pill. It would be really nice to have the nature of reality just shown to me, so I could cut short my university degree. "No, sorry, I don't need to study anymore philosophy, I already know all the answers!"

    • 2) Hobbies? Drawing stuff, reading stuff, writing stuff, horsey stuff, DJ stuff, tossing pebbles in the water, taking long walks with headphones, watching people in high stiletto heels and hoping they'll fall so I can laugh at them.

    • 3) 1st skill you'd upload after unplugging? I want instant perfect mixing and beat-matching abilities with my turntables, since I have nobody to teach me and it's slow going trying to learn on my own.

    • 4) Your favourite movies and what they say about you?

      • The Matrix: that I want to kick ass like Trinity. And that I study philosophy :).

      • Good Will Hunting: that I'm a troubled genius, of course.

      • Memento: that I like to have my head messed with, I guess. Though only by movies. I do not take kindly to people who attempt to mess with my head.

      • Mulholland Drive: ditto.

      • Waking Life: that I'm artsy-fartsy and a philospher, again.

      • Shakespeare in Love: I'll say it proudly: I am a Shakespeare-loving English nerd. Sue me.

    • 5) Which Powerpuff Girl are you? I have never watched the Powerpuff Girls, so I really don't know. I'm kind of a TV ignoramus when it comes to all shows except the X-Files and Law and Order.

    • 6) Lyrics to your own personal theme song? Jesus... this could take awhile, can I get back to you?

    • 7) What is the opening line of your favourite book? "Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board." -Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God

    • 8) If you were trapped on a desert island, what 10 or 15 CDs would you want to have with you?

      • -The Cranberries: "No Need to Argue"

      • -Elastica: "Elastica"

      • -Everything But The Girl: "Temperamental"

      • -Everything But The Girl: "Walking Wounded"

      • -Faithless: "Outrospective"

      • -Faithless: "Sunday 8 PM"

      • -Lamb: "Lamb"

      • -Massive Attack: "Protection"

      • -The Matrix Soundtrack

      • -Moby: "Play"

      • -Pearl Jam: "Ten"

      • -Portishead: "Dummy"

      • -Sneaker Pimps: "Becoming X"

      • -The Tea Party: "Transmission"

      • -Tori Amos: "Little Earthquakes"

      • But hopefully, I'd have Massive Attack's "Mezzanine", My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless", Tricky's "Maxinquaye", some Soulstice, and Everything But The Girl's "Back to Mine" tucked under my shirt or something, too.

    • 9) My least favourite line in "The Matrix" is? "Neo, this is loco!" makes me cringe every time.

    • 10) What is the truth? Absolutely unknowable.

    • 11) Did you a) write the book, b) read the book, c) read the Cliff Notes, or d) produce the movie based on the book? A. I wrote the book, baby. Or at least, I will someday.

    • 12) Who would YOU spar with in the Construct dojo? Hmm... well, Keanu's beautiful, and I wouldn't mind getting up-close and personal with him... but I think I have a bigger crush on Trinity and I'd rather have her kick my ass anyway.

    • 13) Second favorite heroine? Well, Trinity is my goddess (she's the Goddess of this site's goddesses, as I'm sure everyone's noticed if they've come this far). But my second favourite is Molly from Gibson's Neuromancer. In other words: proto-Trinity :).

    • 14) Favorite idea you have created in your Matrix fanfiction universe? Probably the history I gave to Trinity and Cypher in "Three Bullets".

    • 15) List some of the music that inspires you to write. For fanfic? Portishead, mostly (the big piece I'm working on at the moment is a Portishead opus). But I think I was probably listening to Tori Amos when I wrote "In My Head", and a good chunk of "Three Bullets" was definitely inspired by the Massive Attack song "Protection". Original work, however, only comes to me in silence :).

    • 16) Tell about your first experience seeing The Matrix and when it hit you that this was film that would CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER!!! Ah, MTS and her subtly-worded questions :). Well, I saw it for the first time under protest a year after it was released. I pretty much expected it to be another testosterone flick, full of action and guns and the prerequisite sci-fi chick in unnecessarily tight black leather. So it really caught me off-guard when it actually turned out to be so interesting. It got me asking questions. I think I watched it three times that weekend.
